DiPo Out and About: Fall 2022

DiPo team members had the opportunity to share their work at several events this fall.

DiPo has been busy this fall! Take a look at the highlights below:

Screen grab from a Zoom presentation by Dr. Jennifer Zwicker. The slide reads "Policy Matters: Practical Approaches for Evidence Informed Policy Development." On the top right hand corner there is a photo of Dr. Jennifer Zwicker.
  • Erin McCabe presented her work on youth mental health at three conferences: 2022 Northwest SPOR Collaborative Forum (October 2022), International Society for Quality of Life Research Annual Conference (October 2022), and Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI) Research Retreat (December 2022).

  • Ash Seth presented a poster describing the mental health impacts of service disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic on young children, and their families at the Canadian Children, Youth and Communities Health in Equity Conference (October 2022).

  • Brittany Finlay and Jennifer Zwicker were invited to present about their research at Luke’s Legacy Family Research Rounds in October 2022. The Research Rounds is a series of monthly virtual research presentations for patients and families that is designed in a family-friendly format with an interactive discussion component.

  • Jennifer Zwicker was invited to present about disability policy and the work that DiPo does at the Calgary Adapted Hub’s November Research & Community Engagement Seminar. A panel discussion, featuring Brittany Finlay and Genevieve Currie, followed the presentation.

  • Christiane Roth and Jennifer Zwicker presented their work on identifying indicators to align policy and service delivery with child health and well-being at the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI) Research Retreat in December 2022.

Sharing our work at conferences and other events is an important way for our team to make connections with researchers, community members, individuals with lived experience, and other stakeholders, which helps to enhance the quality and impact of our work.
