DiPo, in partnership with the researchers at the Cumming School of Medicine, submitted a policy brief to the Ministry of Treasury Board and Finance containing our requests for the 2023 Alberta Budget. The requests in our submission were informed by our research and aim to ensure that the Alberta Government considers the needs of persons with disabilities while drafting the 2023 Budget.

The 2023 Alberta Budget is scheduled to be released in February 2023. You can learn more about the Budget and Budget Consultations here.

In summary, our submission highlights the following key requests for the 2023 Alberta Budget:

  • Request #1: Children should be prioritized in Alberta’s policies and budget allocations

  • Request #2: People with disabilities should be considered in all policies, particularly in COVID-19 recovery efforts.

Preparing submissions for Budget consultations is an important way that DiPo contributes to shaping government priorities to ensure the needs of individuals with disabilities are considered in government decision-making.
