Join Us at a National Discussion Forum on Disability-Inclusive Policy!

We would love to hear your thoughts and perspectives at this virtual event on November 28, 2023.

Join us for an engaging discussion forum on the future of disability-inclusive policy in Canada. This event presents a rare opportunity to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders and individuals with lived experience from across the country to discuss how we can create policy that addresses the needs of persons with disabilities.

This event continues the momentum from our team's prior efforts, which involved conducting focus groups and interviews to establish a prioritized list of disability-inclusive policy recommendations for governments across various sectors and jurisdictions. Ahead of the event, we will distribute the outcomes of this work, including the comprehensive list of recommendations, to all registered participants.

Our objective is to establish a nationwide consensus on key priorities for disability-inclusive policy recommendations and to collaboratively shape a set of principles for inclusive policy development. This initiative holds significant importance as it addresses the existing lack of conceptual principles and guidelines for developing disability policies and programs in Canada. During this event, we aim to identify the overarching principles that can inform the creation of disability-inclusive policies, extending beyond the specific recommendations we've already crafted. This endeavor will prove especially pertinent in shaping programs like the Canada Disability Benefit.

This event will include interactive, consensus-building techniques and will create a safe space for all perspectives and insights to be shared. We look forward to seeing you at the event!
